Wet conditions greeted the field of 30 players for Saturday’s stableford competition.

The score of the day come from Shane Anderson, who seemed more relaxed after being voted out as president at the recent AGM. He fired a 39 off the stick on the back 9 to give him 23 points which he then followed up with 19 points on the front. The 8 pars in his round were exceptional and with no double bogeys on the card he was always going to be hard to beat.

Runnerup with another usual boring round was the ever reliable Peter Walker who carded 38 points with a birdie on the 12th being a highlight. The other minor placegetters were Tyson Ploenges and Stump Murray, fresh from his victorious Presidential Campaign.

In the B grade John “Horrie” Foggo made a long awaited return to the winners circle with a well compiled 38points. The only hiccup in his round was on the long 14th hole where he failed to score. A shot behind was Shane McFlanders with 37 points.

A countback was needed for the next positions with Ant Mathys having a little better back nine to beat Blue Kuhl. The nearest to the Pin winners were Leo Price on the 7th and Brett Williams on the 9th with Chris Holden having the best 2nd on the 11th.

The prized chocolate went to the re-elected Captain who must be thinking that the curse has finally struck after 2 years. Congratulations also to Dean Moore who defeated Allen Meyer in a close contest to win last season’s Top Dog .

This week will see a par round before the holding of the Katnook Monthly Medal the week after with twilight golf still on Friday with tee off around 5, non golfers are also more than welcome to come for a hit and a feed.
