Winter Season opens

Penola Golf Club's winter season opened on March 12 with a women's Ambrose competition.
Club Champion Judith Georgeson got proceedings underway with a perfect drive off the first tee to the delight of fellow competitors.
Three visitors joined in the fun competition with each player restricted to three sticks.
The winning team on the day was Nan Mann, Claire Mossop and Penny Young ahead of runners up Mary Davis, Mary Cram and Leanne Medhurst.
Trophies for the summer competition were also presented by the sponsor, Tanya Mourbey of Travel 'n Cruise.
Gail Stephenson got the nod for the best three scores ahead of runner up Jane Jenkins.
Georgeson won the eclectic trophy.
