Hutchesson blitzes the field

A field of 23 golfers took to the Penola Golf Course on Saturday in pleasant conditions for the 4th round of the Captain’s Trophy.

Runaway winner for the day in B-Grade was Andrew Hutchesson with an impressive 43 points. Peter Walker came 2nd with 38 points while Blue Kuhl claimed 3rd with 36 points.

In A-Grade, Jeremy Briggs took the honours on 36 points while Tony Gleeson claimed 2nd on countback from Paul Harmer, both with 33 points.

Nearest the pin winners were Briggs on the 7th, Hutchesson on the 9th while President Bill Cheers had the best 2nd on the 10th.

Next week will feature the 4th round of the President’s Trophy with tee off from 11:30am. All welcome.

Peter Ey tames the field

A field of 23 golfers took to the Penola Golf Course on Saturday for the Rabobank Monthly Medal with trying conditions making scoring difficult.

Score of the day and C-Grade winner was Peter Ey with a nett 71, the only score for the day below handicap. Runner-up was Andrew Hutchesson with a nett 74, well clear of 3rd and 4th placed Ant Mathys and Mal Redman, both with nett 79.

George Kidman took the honours on A-Grade with a nett 73, one shot clear of Ian Agnew. David Murray, nett 75, and Nathan Williams, nett 77 rounded out the other placings.

In B-Grade, Grant Stephenson claimed a comfortable victory with a nett 73 from runner-up Shane Anderson on nett 77. Greg Hutchesson claimed 3rd on countback from David Boyd, both with Nett 78.

Nearest the pin winners were Agnew on the 7th, John Mossop on the 9th while Murray claimed the best 2nd on the 11th.

Longest drives went to the ghost that walks in A-Grade, Mikey Redman in B-Grade and Ey in C-Grade.

Anderson claimed honours in the putting competition on countback with 28 putts.

The NAGA went to everyone’s favourite principal Paul Harmer with a nett 84.

Next week will hopefully see sunny conditions as the club hosts the 4th Round of the Captain’s Trophy. Tee-off from 11:30am, all welcome!

Mossop Claims Victory

A field of 22 players took to the course on Saturday in pleasant conditions for the 3rd Round of the Club Stableford Trophy.

Walkaway winner for the day was John Mossop in A-Grade with 39 points. Don Ferguson and Ian Agnew both had 36 points with the former winner on countback while Lindsay Storer finished 4th with 34 points.

In B-Grade, Shane Anderson claimed victory in a 3-way countback from Andrew Hutchesson and Peter Walker, all with 36 points. In 4th was John Gregory with 35 points.

Nearest the pin winners were Peter Ey on the 7th, Mossop on the 9th while Greg Hutchesson claimed the best 2nd on the 12th.

The NAGA went to local greengrocer Shane McPherson with a commendable 27 points.

Next week will feature the highly anticipated Rabobank Monthly Medal with tee-off from 11:30am. All welcome!
