Swirling conditions greeted 24 players at the Penola Golf Club for a beloved Par Round. Despite the breezy conditions, scores were, for the most part, impressive.
Tony Gleeson took the honours in A-Grade with a +7, coinciding with a personal best of 79 off the stick. Runner-Up was Richard Barnes with a +4 and a 70 of the beater. Jeremy Briggs and Andrew Hutchesson took 3rd and 4th place respectively, shooting a +2.
Over in B-Grade, David Boyd was the clear winner with a +5, 3 clear of both Mal Redman and Ant Mathys who came in at +2. John Gregory took 4th place with +1.
Nearest the pin on the 9th went to Barnes while Briggs had the best 2nd on the 11th and Pete Docking took home the chocolate of his choice.
A “Come and Try” golf clinic for women is being held across three sessions, commencing Sunday, March 26th. Further details are available on the club website and Facebook page.
