John Mossop and Nathan Williams will go head to head over 36 holes next Sunday to see who will be crowned the Penola Golf Club Open Men’s’ Champion in 2018.

Williams will be keen to get his name on the honour board for the first time, whilst Mossop if good enough will bag his second.

On Sunday during the quarter and semi-finals, Mossop won his matches against Don Ferguson, and Ian Agnew to go through, whilst Williams won against George Kidman and Greg Hutchesson.

During the post-match  presentations, Williams said “look the big man is in great form, but I think I’m in with a very good chance here”. Mossop, said he was honoured to play against Williams, and glad to be cleared of any caddying responsibilities.

In the B Grade, Leo Price will take on David Murray in what looms as a great match. Price won his matches against Mikey Redman, and Curt Evans, whilst Murray won against Chris Holden and Jamie Boneham.

In the C Grade Steven Skeer is up against  Johnny Wilkinson. Wilkinson confident, that some unexpected cattle work may arise early on Sunday morning declaring him the winner of the match. Skeer won his earlier matches against Alan Meyer and Mal Redman, whilst Wilkinson beat his uncle Peter Walker and the club president Bill Cheers.

The D Grade players were able to make the most of the daylight savings changes, with two matches in the afternoon deciding the final. Peter Ey won his match against Trevor Williams, and Lee Bateman won his match against the long hitting David Boyd.
